janet+jay: engagement session - greensboro's tanger bicentennial gardens

janet and jay will be getting married this coming saturday and i've thoroughly enjoyed getting to know this sweet couple over the past several months.  last fall we got together for their engagement session which was at tanger bicentennial gardens in greensboro.  joining them was their adorable dog, peanut, who wanted to be part of the fun {she also enjoyed eying all the squirrels in the park!}.  we actually got rained out on the first day and we were only there for about 30 minutes, when we decided we better come back another day.  so we rescheduled a week or two later and the weather was simply gorgeous, not to mention we still had some nice fall color.  its hard to believe their wedding day is fast approaching after months of planning!  be sure to stay tuned for janet's bridals and then of course the wedding!

christine+clayton {and ollie!} - engagement session - pippin hill farm

in just a few short days, christine and clayton will be getting married!  we are super excited for them & are really looking forward to their wedding weekend in charlottesville.

last fall, i got together with christine and clayton at pippin hill farm for their engagement session. they brought along their sweet king charles spaniel, ollie, who joined in on the fun!  we had such gorgeous warm light, not to mention the views are spectacular at pippin hill farm.  you can not go wrong for photo ops with an amazing location, a couple so in love, and a happy-go-lucky pup :)

tomoko+tom {and critters!}: lifestyle portrait session - oakridge, nc

last wednesday evening terry and i headed out to tomoko + tom's beautiful home for a few fun portraits.
joining them was their seven month old yellow lab puppy, connie, who is so full of spunk & energy! we attempted to get their kitty mekong to participate, however she wasn't amused!  i love the one & only shot I got of the four of them together,  as tom's expression is priceless!

tomoko and tom's house is located on a wooded lot facing a large pond, surrounded by mature trees, and beautiful plants. it made for a nice setting for portraits. we've known tomoko and tom for a couple of years now. we met through a group of mutual friends called the "winers & diners" who enjoy getting together about once a month to share food, wine, and recipes with one another - there are some amazing cooks in our group!

and speaking of which, tomoko and tom asked us to join them that evening for a traditional japanese dinner, which tomoko lovingly prepared for us.  another couple, ayako and carl {who are also in our "group"} came over and joined us for dinner too.  what an enjoyable evening we all had!  if only i'd remembered to photograph the food, it was a work of art and so delicious!

gibsonville portrait photographer: fun at copper horse farm!

it was great fun getting together with my friends & wonderful neighbors, pam and steve, a couple of weekends ago!  we met up at pam's place, copper horse farm, on a beautiful fall morning along with a menagerie of their critters. this time i showed up with a camera!

pam and i always joke that we see more of each other's animals than we do of each other.  we often trade out feeding and caring for, while the other is out of town.  interestingly enough we rarely ever have conflicting dates.  and because of that, the critters were all really well behaved for their photo session.  they all know me as the "meal ticket"!

alongside pam & steve {left to right in the large group shot} we have: kid, pam holding springer  & box, steve, munchie, ellis, and kota.  not pictured were pam's orange tabbies... tigger & DC.  they didn't want to have any part of it!
