Christine + Greg - Elon University Engagement Session

Christine and Greg are getting married this weekend at King Family Vineyards!  I can't wait!  These two met as undergraduates at Elon University, so when they found out I live only 15 minutes from campus they were super excited to schedule their engagement session there. In early April, they drove down from Virginia and made a weekend of it.  One of their favorite locations at Elon is the fountain in front of the Alamance Building, so we started off there.  Its such a beautiful campus & we had such a great time. And Christine wore burgundy - a school color!

Like me, Christine is also from the Charlottesville area, so we had that connection too. Her family still lives close to where they are having their wedding this weekend & at one of my favorite Virginia vineyards. You can't beat the view there and the weather is going to be sunny and in the low 70's. So excited for these two & looking forward to seeing them again. Stay tuned for a blog post featuring their wedding in the coming months, if not weeks!

Sara + Bryce - DelFosse Vineyards & Winery Engagement Session

Back in November, just before Thanksgiving,  I got together with Sara & Bryce who will be getting married this coming September.  We agreed to meet at the beautiful and scenic DelFosse Vineyards & Winery just west of Charlottesville.  The fall color was luckily still hanging on, although this vineyard would be gorgeous any time of year!  We did have a chilly but gorgeous late afternoon for their session. Hiking up the ridge and into the vineyards made for the best views.  We had a fun time and the folks at the winery were ever so gracious.  Although this couple is planning their wedding at Josephine Butler Parks Center in Washington, DC,  DelFosse would make for an amazing location for a wedding!   Not to mention their wine is fabulous - I took two bottles home with me.  I look forward to planning with Sara and Bryce over these next several months and to photographing their wedding come September!

blake + justin - blue ridge parkway engagement session

last fall, terry and i drove up to virginia to meet blake and justin at the entrance to the blue ridge parkway for their engagement session. we followed each other along stopping at various locations and scenic overlook areas. it was such a beautiful afternoon, relatively mild until the sun started to set and then the wind picked up. we were all chilled to the bone, once we wrapped things up!  however the location was perfect - and really suited them, as blake and justin both work for the virginia department of forestry. so naturally, they are both into the great outdoors & wanted their session to reflect that. i was thrilled when they suggested the park as a location!  they are getting married this coming weekend at king family vineyards just west of charlottesville, virginia and i can't wait to work with this fabulous couple again - they are so much fun and easy going!

christine+clayton: pippin hill farm wedding

you may remember christine, clayton, and their adorable dog, ollie, from their engagement session last fall.  they were married on a beautiful spring day in may at their church in charlottesville.  the reception was at the amazing pippin hill farm just west of town.  there is no place like it.  i have to say they have the best views i've seen of the blue ridge mountains!

the wedding weekend started off with a fabulous rehearsal dinner hosted by clayton's parents, the evening before the wedding at one of charlottesville's best restaurants, orzo kitchen & wine bar. the next morning jenny joined me and together we documented their entire day - from the gals getting their hair and makeup done in the morning at pippin hill on into the evening when christine & clayton departed in a "sea of lavender" at the end of their reception.

christine was such a strikingly beautiful bride, with such a sweet personality.  and her wedding gown - gorgeous! you could see the love and adoration in clayton's eyes as soon as he saw her walking down the aisle at the beginning of the ceremony. and seeing her dad "give her away" - well, these things can even bring the photographer to {happy} tears!

once at pippin hill, entering the granary where the reception was held, i was blown away with how beautifully decorated it was - fresh flowers, warm glowing candles, mahogany chiavari chairs, and crisp clean white tablecloths on the tables.  everything about this place impressive - you have to go see for yourself.  there really is no place like it!

the memories of christine & clayton's day are still fresh in my mind - as i design their album for them, i've enjoyed looking through their wedding photos again.  it has inspired me at long last to blog this stunning wedding! what fun it was - a lovely couple, great friends, and warm, friendly families made for a truly wonderful celebration!
