Lake Mackintosh was the setting for Shannon & Brandus' engagement session last month. We were all thrilled we had a mild day and still touches of fall color that afternoon when we got together. Shannon & Brandus brought their adorable dogs along that day & they really enjoyed the park and the session just as much as their humans! It was fun getting to know these two better and learning a little more about their upcoming late summer wedding at The Burke Manor Inn. Looking forward Shannon's bridal this summer & to their upcoming wedding day in September 2017. It won't be long!

A Family of Seven! - A Greensboro Fall Session
Kris, Kim, their 4 children & the family dog met up with me on The Greenway along Lake Brandt in Greensboro for their Christmas card portrait. Kim told me she hopes to make it an annual event, as she and her husband haven't had professional portraits since their wedding!
The trails were buzzing with activity the afternoon of their session, however we somehow managed to work around the cyclists, runners, and dozens of dog-walkers! And its too bad the fall color wasn't quite at peak that weekend - it has been hard to pinpoint and was pretty late this year. Their session was in early November & peak is usually on or by the 3rd or 4th weekend in October here. Some of the trees are still hanging on to their leaves!
Either way, we had a fun time and I enjoyed getting to know this family. Kris was a real trooper as he admitted he was missing out on the Steelers game! We decided that next time we'd have to plan around the football schedule! Such nice people whom I hope to get to work with again.
If you have family coming in for the holidays we'd be happy to schedule a session with you. Contact us via our website for additional info & availability. Generally, we will travel anywhere, however during the holidays we'd like to stick closer to home. We can schedule your session anywhere in the Greater NC Triad & will consider coming to Durham or Chapel Hill as well. Let us know!

Grayson - UNCG Cap & Gown/Graduation Session
Grayson will be graduating on May 6th from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She will be earning her bachelors degree in Psychology & is considering graduate school in her future. To me, I can't believe she's in college, let alone getting ready to graduate! I've known Grayson for 9 years - since she was in 8th grade, come to think of it! Her mom and dad are dear friends of mine - and the best landlords one could ever ask for.
After walking around UNCG's scenic campus for a good hour or so, we came back to Grayson's apartment so that her sweet fur-baby, Dixie, could be included in a few. I just love her dog - always happy and wagging her whole body! To some of my blog followers, Grayson and Dixie may look familiar as I photographed both of them late last summer when Grayson needed a headshot for her upcoming debutante ball & several years before that for a family session also on her parent's farm out here in Gibsonville, just before Grayson headed off to her freshmen year in college!
What a smart, beautiful young lady Grayson has grown up to be with such a bright future ahead of her. Congratulations Grayson - I'm so proud of you!

A girl and her dog - Grayson & Dixie!
This afternoon, I will be meeting up with Grayson again for her college graduation session on the campus of UNCG where she'll be graduating in May. Its hard to believe she will be graduating from college, as I've known her for nine years now - since she was in middle school at St. Pius! Grayson has become such a lovely young lady & she's always a pleasure to be around.
Its been a long time coming, posting these photos of Grayson from late last summer. Somehow my crazy fall schedule got in the way & I never got around to posting them - until now! We got together on her parent's farm, Three Oaks Farm, out in Gibsonville, as she needed a head shot for her debutante listing. Towards the end of her session, we did some fun portraits of Grayson with her sweet dog, Dixie. Many of these are my favorites!
This afternoon, I secretly hope that Grayson includes Dixie in part of her session! We will be doing some "cap & gown" shots as well as some informal fun shots around campus. Stay tuned for photos coming soon. This time, I won't wait so long to post them. And in the very least before her college graduation!

sweet family of five - a high point photo session
Looking through these photos again makes my heart smile! I met up with Matt + Priscilla, whom I've known for several years now, and their three adorable daughters about a month before Christmas for their lifestyles family session. We started off on the front porch of their new home & then in the backyard where the girls could play in the leaves and on the swing set. I love these kind of sessions - allowing kids to be kids! And their daughters are such sweeties. I really had a good time with all of them - such a wonderful family to spend time with. We closed out an afternoon of fun with a few photos inside with their chihuahua, George, joining in. I think he must be the tiniest dog ever! I have to say that one of my personal favorites from their session is of their youngest daughter holding George. Whats not to love - a girl and her dog - pure adorableness!
