King Family Vineyard was the setting for Blake & Justin's summertime wedding. I met the couple a little less than a year before their wedding, when we got together for their engagement session on the Virginia side of the Blue Ridge Parkway. We had great fun that day & I just knew they would be wonderful to work with on their wedding day too. And they were!
Blake & Justin both work for the Virginia Department of Forestry and since they are in to the great outdoors, they wanted a venue where they could have an outdoor ceremony with an amazing view of the blue ridge mountains. King Family Vineyard definitely fit the bill! The nice thing about this venue is that you can also have your ceremony & reception indoors in the event of inclement weather.
The reception was held on site in the carriage house after the ceremony. Everything looked so pretty from the place settings to the beautiful flowers Amy & her team at Blue Ridge Floral Design created. Cinda & her daughter of White Birch Events also added some nice touches from the chalkboard signs to the banner over the fireplace mantel. It was wonderful to have these two women there for day-of coordination as well. Highly recommend their services!
Sandy Motley Catering was amazing as always & the wedding cake was not only gorgeous, it was really delicious too! To really make Blake & Justin's day extra special, his dad is in a band called Cross Roadz - he's the drummer. They provided the reception music & everyone simply loved them. The big surprise is when Smokey the Bear came out and danced with Blake towards the end of the evening. She had no idea Justin planned this as a surprise for her - it was awesome!
What a remarkable day it was, filled with lots of great memories. I have to say that my favorite part of the day was when seeing his bride for the first time, Justin shed a few tears. To me, that is just so incredibly sweet!
