Christine + Greg - Elon University Engagement Session

Christine and Greg are getting married this weekend at King Family Vineyards!  I can't wait!  These two met as undergraduates at Elon University, so when they found out I live only 15 minutes from campus they were super excited to schedule their engagement session there. In early April, they drove down from Virginia and made a weekend of it.  One of their favorite locations at Elon is the fountain in front of the Alamance Building, so we started off there.  Its such a beautiful campus & we had such a great time. And Christine wore burgundy - a school color!

Like me, Christine is also from the Charlottesville area, so we had that connection too. Her family still lives close to where they are having their wedding this weekend & at one of my favorite Virginia vineyards. You can't beat the view there and the weather is going to be sunny and in the low 70's. So excited for these two & looking forward to seeing them again. Stay tuned for a blog post featuring their wedding in the coming months, if not weeks!

Sarah + James - King Family Vineyards Wedding

Last month, Sarah & James were married at the gorgeous King Family Vineyards. We'd been planning their wedding since last summer, so the anticipation & excitement were building up to the big day!  Last fall we got together for their engagement session and just from meeting them for the first time, I knew these two really enjoy each other's company & are truly in love with one another.

March can be tricky regarding weather conditions, however on their wedding day it couldn't of been any better! Either way, Sarah & James planned in advance to have the ceremony inside the carriage house in front of the huge stone fireplace. It was also the day before daylight savings so it would still be getting dark pretty early.  We planned ahead by doing as many photos beforehand, although Sarah & James agreed to see each other for the first time when she and her dad made their entrance into the ceremony. The look on James's face was totally worth the wait, seeing her for the first time.

After the ceremony, the guests enjoyed wines from the winery, some local microbrews, h'ordouerves, and time around the outdoor fire pit while the caterers set up the carriage house for the reception & Jenny and I finished up the wedding party photos outside - we had just enough light before the sun set over the mountains! After the wedding party made their entrance into the reception, Sarah and James went right into their first dance. Then the father-daughter & mother-son dances.

Helen & her team with The Local were amazing, as was their DJ. Working together, they made the evening warm, welcoming, and fun for the newlyweds and their guests. After the fabulous meal was served buffet style, the dance floor opened up.  Everyone was having so much fun, especially Sarah's grandmother - she was out on the dance floor for almost every single song! The toasts were made, Sarah & James cut their amazing chocolate wedding cake, and the dancing continued well into the evening. It will be a day to remember!
