Beth + Bryan - Coastal South Carolina Wedding

Beth & Bryan's wedding brought me back down to Coastal South Carolina for the first weekend in April. Their ceremony was held inside the beautiful and historic Loris First Baptist Church on a gorgeous but very windy spring day!  Mel came up from Pawley's Island to help me document their wedding. Mel and I often work together for a small local studio specializing in academic photography. It was great fun to finally photograph a wedding together!

Beth, her mother, & I had been planning their wedding for over a year and when the day finally came, we were all just so excited!  Last fall, I had the pleasure of spending a couple of hours with Beth & Bryan getting to know them better. We met up at Huntington Beach State Park and Atalaya Castle for their engagement session. These two met in high school at Green Sea Floyds becoming friends, eventually dating, and now inseparable.

Beth's mother played a big role in planning & creating many of the beautiful elements on their wedding day.  Beth at the time was away in pharmacy school in Columbia and Bryan back home working full time and overseeing their new home being built.  It truly was wonderful to see how involved their families all were in helping make their wedding day truly theirs.

One of the highlights of the day - Beth's Dad seeing her in her dress for the first time. A wow - and get out your hankie moment! Although Beth & Bryan decided not to do a "first look" they did meet privately just before the ceremony, Bryan blindfolded, so that they could pray together. This was such a very special moment too. The look on his face when Beth entered the sanctuary was priceless too. Mel got a great shot of this from the balcony in the church!

After a beautiful ceremony, the reception was held within walking distance from the church. They had a tent set up outdoors, the covered breezeway for the buffet, &  the main reception inside fellowship hall, which was beautifully decorated with flowers & attention to detail throughout.  Beth & Bryan displayed many of their photos from their engagement session throughout the room. I especially loved the photo printed on wood with scripture on back - really awesome.

During reception corn hole was set up outside for the guests to enjoy - one custom painted with the Clemson paw print & school colors and the other with the South University School of Pharmacy emblem.  After a fabulous down home southern supper was served, Beth and Bryan mingled with their guests and then they did their first dance. Then Beth danced with her dad, the toasts were made, and then Beth & Bryan cut their wedding cake. Last but not least, they did a garter and bouquet toss - always a fun tradition! With a sparkler send-off,  the newlyweds departed in a waiting limo and away to Jamaica they went on their honeymoon!
