Dagmara + -Ladd - UVA Chapel & King Family Vineyard Wedding

Our last wedding of 2014 was Dagmara & Ladd's amazing celebration at the University of Virginia Chapel and King Family Vineyards.  Their 1st anniversary is this coming Sunday 12.20.15, so it is iterally just in time to be featuring their wedding here on the blog. It was a wonderful way to end the wedding season for us last year!

Dagmara & Ladd's day began with us arriving at the Omni Hotel for some getting ready photos ahead of time before heading over to the chapel.  The couple chose not to see one another before, however we planned enough time in the day for plenty of photos. Dagmara was absolutely stunning in her custom designed, handmade wedding gown & those shoes. Woah! They were a gift from Ladd, purchased in Dubai.

There's something about a man in uniform - Ladd looked so handsome! He is a Lt. Colonel in the Marine Corps, while Dagmara is serving as a SFC in the Army Reserves.  With them both serving in the military, they incorporated many of the traditions into their wedding day. One of those traditions was the arch of swords to salute the newly married couple, as they exited the chapel just after the ceremony. Another was the couple cutting their cake with a sword.

And I simply can't express how wonderful it is when a couple includes their children in their ceremony making the day not just about the couple, but their children too. Dagmara's daughter served as a flower girl and their son was the ring bearer. He was so precious in his kilt & she looked adorable with her bejeweled tiara and white faux fur stole.  Cute children!

Dagmara & Ladd were such a kind, genuine, and warm couple. Not to mention they have great taste in music! They share a love of the Dave Matthews Band & each of the guest's tables were named after a DMB song. "Steady As We Go" was their first dance. The carriage house at King Family Vineyards looked so festive - I loved the added cafe string lights & the flowers and centerpieces were gorgeous.  A big fire in the stone fireplace made the room warm and cozy.

After a delicious meal was served, the dance floor opened up to the guests.  Derek Tobler is one of the most professional DJ's out there. He knows how to read a crowd. There were a lot of children at this wedding and when he played "Let it Go" from Disney's Frozen, every single little girl was out on the dance floor {and a few boys}!  It was awesome. The children had just as much fun at this wedding as the adults. Once the cake was cut and the toasts were made, Dagmara and Ladd departed in a send-off of sparklers.  It was such a beautiful and magical day!
