Casey + Matt's Wedding - The Gardens at Gray Gables

Tomorrow, November 1st, marks Casey and Matt's one year anniversary & as promised, my plan this year was to post all of my 2014 weddings before the couple's first anniversary.  I'm cutting it close with Casey and Matt's wedding for sure!

Although their wedding is just shy of one year ago, I remember it like it was yesterday.  It was a cool, rainy day but a beautiful day filled with so much love from their families & friends.  Casey's two sisters were her attendants and her brother was one of Matt's groomsmen.  Although mother nature didn't want to cooperate, the venue has an enclosed tent on the property so they were able to set up an area under tent for the ceremony and then make way for the dance floor in the same area for the reception.

The breezeway under the covered porch at the main house made the perfect location for the family & wedding party photos, keeping everyone dry. Casey, Matt, & I were able to slip away briefly during the reception for photos of the two of them, as by then it had finally stopped raining.  They were such an adorable couple and I have to say that Casey was one of the most easy-going brides ever and was just so happy to be getting married to her sweetheart.  I really love photographing weddings at this venue, since there are unlimited possibilities for locations!

The afternoon reception was held under the heated tent, which was so inviting to all on such a chilly day! During the cocktail hour, the caterers passed h'ordeurves around to the guests and they also set up a farm table of assorted cheeses & crackers before the meal was served. Southern cuisine of barbecue, slaw, hot spiced apples, & a macaroni and cheese station were among the things on the menu, which were served to the guests. The food was amazing & the caterers were fabulous!

After dinner, the toasts were made by the honor attendants and fathers, followed by Casey & Matt cutting the beautiful & delicious wedding cake and then the groom's cake. Casey & Matt then did their first dance together, then Casey with her father, and last but not least the bouquet and garter tosses. The weather clearly didn't dampen anyone's spirits & a good time was had by all! They say that rain is good luck to the wedding couple & I've also heard the old saying that it signifies that you will have {many!} children.  This could be true, as Casey & Matt welcomed a baby girl in August!  She is absolutely precious and I hope I get to meet her someday when Casey and Matt move back to the area!

I not only enjoyed working with Casey & Matt, I've thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Casey's entire family in the past year.  I really enjoyed planning the wedding with her mother, Rebecca. Haley her sister {who was Casey's maid of honor} & I had the opportunity to work together again in the spring, when I photographed her high school senior portraits.  And now as a freshman in college, she has recently joined me as my fall-winter intern. Thrilled to have this talented young lady on board with me!
