Many of you may not know that I offer wedding photography options to couples who choose to elope or plan a much smaller wedding {with 25 or fewer guests, for example}. Although some weekend dates may not be available it never hurts to check to see if we have an opening. In fact June and into July of this summer {2015} we have a few weekends opened so please get in touch if this is something you are planning! Please inquire about pricing too.
Weekday weddings {Monday through Thursday} are usually more flexible & I offer an even better rate. Weekday rates are $200 for one hour of coverage {you can add as many additional hours as desired}. Please keep in mind the pricing is for weddings with fewer than 25 guests. Fridays are available as well, however more so on a limited basis as are Saturdays & Sundays. Again, please check for availability and for pricing! You can also add an engagement session to your option {scheduled at least a week or more before your wedding} or an album.
Although you may have already selected a location to say your vows such as a garden, local park, or your home, we can suggest venues or locations, interfaith ministers, and any other ideas such as flowers if you'd like to carry a bouquet or even a local bakery if you wanted to have a small cake or cupcakes. A really great local resource is elopetriad.com. Please tell them I sent you!
Some ideas to make your day special - select a location that may have special meaning to you. Was your first date a picnic and/or hike at Hanging Rock State Park? If you are buying your first home together, your patio or garden may be the best place for you. If you have stayed at a B&B or visited a local winery together, that may be the perfect setting. Keep in mind that local parks & botanical gardens, you may need to obtain a permit and pay a fee so these are things to keep in mind and may take a day or two to obtain. Some places may want you to fill out a contract and pay a retainer. Its always best to check first. Another couple, Cezanne & Matt, chose to have a small family wedding at Lake Norman State Park, as they are both into the outdoors.
Also another thought to make it special for you. You may want to have some champagne or sparkling cider ready to toast and celebrate right after saying your vows. Or if you are having guests you may want have the same offered to them along with a few h'ordeuvres. I know of one couple who had their ceremony on a mountaintop in Virginia and afterwards just the two of them went to a favorite restaurant in Charlottesville to celebrate a romantic dinner together.

The wedding below was held at the Burke Manor Inn in Gibsonville and they had around 15 guests. They had their ceremony on the front veranda & reserved a private room for a seated dinner with wedding cake & italian wedding cookies served for dessert. I've photographed weddings anywhere from 5 people (bride, groom, officiant, & 2 witnesses) on up to about 400 guests. Weddings can be as small & intimate as you'd like on up to a big celebration. I even know a few who have eloped and then had a big party later. Let it be about who you are as a couple.
