recently, i got together with my former neighbors, lauren and todd, for their engagement session. i remember when i hung out with them one evening before they moved away, lauren had told me "if todd ever asks, you're going to be the photographer at our wedding!" sure enough, he asked and she said yes!
we met over at our mutual friends place, three oaks farm, in nearby gibsonville for their e-session. and what a fantastic place for photo ops... a cool old barn with an american flag painted on the side, a wonderful 1800's farmhouse with a bright red porch swing, gorgeous gardens and mature trees. i love the old shed with the sign that reads over the entryway "please wipe out machines after use." we spent some time catching up, laughing, and having so much fun, all while i followed them around with my camera.
after spending about an hour over at our friend's farm, we headed over to the hayloft in mcleansville, where they will be having their wedding reception next may. they have a great barn there too and the landscape is so green and lush this time of year. the hayloft is still a working farm, however you can rent out the fully restored dairy barn and grounds for an event, so those looking for a quaint place in the north carolina countryside, this is it!
i'm looking forward to lauren and todd's wedding next may... its going to be a super fun time!
