Sara + Bryce - DelFosse Vineyards & Winery Engagement Session

Back in November, just before Thanksgiving,  I got together with Sara & Bryce who will be getting married this coming September.  We agreed to meet at the beautiful and scenic DelFosse Vineyards & Winery just west of Charlottesville.  The fall color was luckily still hanging on, although this vineyard would be gorgeous any time of year!  We did have a chilly but gorgeous late afternoon for their session. Hiking up the ridge and into the vineyards made for the best views.  We had a fun time and the folks at the winery were ever so gracious.  Although this couple is planning their wedding at Josephine Butler Parks Center in Washington, DC,  DelFosse would make for an amazing location for a wedding!   Not to mention their wine is fabulous - I took two bottles home with me.  I look forward to planning with Sara and Bryce over these next several months and to photographing their wedding come September!

Sarah + James - A Blue Ridge Parkway Fall Engagement Session

Sarah, James, & I had originally planned for their engagement session the weekend hurricane Joaquin decided to make its way to land. Needless to say, with the storm came several inches of rain along with high winds.  So we made plans to reschedule a few weeks later & I am so glad we did, as fall color was at peak in the mountains by then.

We agreed to meet at the northern entrance of the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia, a couple of hours before sunset.  We allowed enough time to stop at a few locations along the parkway, ending at an overlook with gorgeous views looking westward as the sun set. We agreed that the last stop was the best for scenery - we probably would've kept going had there been enough light.  We were having too much fun!

It was such a pleasure getting to know Sarah & James a little better the day of their session. Although James has been to the parkway before, it was Sarah's first visit. She recently relocated to Richmond from the west coast so this was new to her. I'm so glad they trusted me when I suggested the parkway as an idea for their session!

I'm certainly looking forward to seeing Sarah & James again at their upcoming March 2016 wedding at King Family Vineyards. It won't be long!

Juliana + Brian - Virginia Beach Engagement Session

Juliana & Brian will be getting married in Greensboro this coming weekend!  It has been so much fun working with this couple, while leading up to their big day.  Earlier this spring, I drove up to Virginia Beach, VA for their engagement session.  The couple met while Juliana was in graduate school & Brian in law school, both at Regent University. It was only fitting that they chose to have their session there on campus, which offered many fabulous locations for photos.

I really enjoyed hearing about how the two of them became engaged. A friend, who was in on it, joined them on a day trip to the Cape Henry Lighthouse. Once they made it to the top, while taking in the beautiful scenery of the Chesapeake Bay, Brian surprised Juliana by getting down on one knee & proposed with a beautiful diamond ring. Their friend was able to get a photo of the proposal with her smartphone -  and of course Juliana said yes!

Juliana & Brian have been such a joy to work with - I'm so excited for this sweet couple. Please stay tuned for Juliana's bridals after their wedding & a future blog post of their wedding too. I can't wait to share!  Until then, I hope that you enjoy these fun photos from their e-session
