kate + frank - castle mcculloch wedding

Although Kate & Frank live in Florida, they chose to have a destination wedding in North Carolina.  They decided on a unique one-of-a-kind venue called Castle McCulloch as its very close to where Frank's mother & stepfather live.  I met with Kate and Frank for the first time in the fall of 2013 when they made another trip up this way. We got together at the Bog Garden in Greensboro for their engagement session. We had such an enjoyable time together - I just knew we would again on their wedding day 6 months later. Frank has such a whacky, but fun sense of humor & is entertaining to be around! Kate is quiet and more reserved, with a sweet personality. Which I think makes them perfect together!

The day of their June wedding, it was relatively cool for summer in the south, however somewhat humid. The couple chose to have their ceremony inside the Great Hall, which always makes a big impact at this particular venue. With Kate walking around the second level wrap-around balcony and down the long flight of stairs, she truly made her grand entrance! To see how Frank looked at her for the first time was quite touching - you can tell he is truly in love with her. After the beautiful candlelit ceremony, cocktails were served outside on the patio for the guests to enjoy, while Jenny & I photographed the wedding party & families. The reception was immediately following in the Great Hall with dinner, dancing, cake, and a super fun time by all!

janet + jay - summertime greensboro wedding

janet and jay had such a lovely wedding last june. i've enjoyed getting to know them over the past year and a half from the early planning of their wedding, to photographing their engagement session in the fall of 2012, then janet's bridal last spring, their wedding in the summer, and finally designing their album this past fall, which i delivered to them in their new home in december just in time for christmas. they are such a warm and gracious couple whom i thoroughly enjoyed being around. their sweet dog, peanut, truly won my heart over!

on the day of their wedding, i met up with the ladies at the salon where janet had her makeup & hair done, while jenny arrived at the church to photograph the guys ahead of time.  we had just a little rain in the early afternoon of their wedding, which luckily cleared up in time for photos outside after the ceremony. we headed over to nearby tanger bicentennial gardens, which holds a special meaning to the couple. its where they spent many of their early days together dating, getting to know one another. we also did their engagement session at the gardens as well.  the setting is just so beautiful anytime of year.

the reception was held at a venue i'd never been to before and had always wondered about it, when passing by in that part of greensboro. now i know!  since they had a smaller guest list, it suited them well.  they had a space for a dance floor, a sweetheart table for janet & jay, the cake table, and about 8 tables for the guests and a separate room set up for the buffet.  the picture of janet and jay with the sparklers was at the end of the evening on the outside of the venue.  what a fun time everyone had - it won't be long before they'll be celebrating their 1st anniversary!
