carol marie + david - wedding album details

Last week, Carol Marie and David's wedding album arrived via fedex on my doorstep at my office. I was so excited with how it looked, I had to photograph the details of it before shipping it up to them in Richmond. It just so happened it arrived at their home on their 10 month wedding anniversary!

Carol Marie and David had a lovely wedding last May at The Montpelier Center for Arts & Education in Montpelier, VA not too far from their home in Richmond. It has been fun working with this adorable couple again by designing this beautiful album together.  I have to say, the newlyweds selected some really great photos for their album. It really flows from start to finish and we all agreed that less is more for an album design. Too many photos makes for a a very "busy" album! I love how theirs has such a clean, modern look to it. 

Carol Marie & David chose the linen 8x8" album in Pebble with 22 spreads and the imprinting you see on the cover is Laveranda Regular. What we offer to our clients are 4 sizes all square from 4x4" to 12x12", custom designed and handcrafted with linen or leather covers. The linen is available in 13 colors and leather in 17 colors. There are 12 fonts to choose from. Also coming this spring to our album offerings - a die-cut square opening for one photo on the cover. Please contact us for details and pricing.

Brandy + Steve - Wedding Album

Earlier this fall, Steve, one of my grooms contacted me as he wanted to surprise his wife Brandy with a wedding album for Christmas.  Steve and Brandy had a lovely wedding at the Inn at Celebrity Dairy in September 2013.  Some of you may recognize this wedding as its one currently featured on my website! 

It was so much fun planning & designing this with Steve, without Brandy's knowledge. I know this couple personally & keeping the secret from Brandy was difficult.  Steve decided on the linen cover in "Chai" with the "Alex Brush" font for the imprinting.  The quote Steve choose for the imprinting on the cover was just perfect - Love You to the Moon and Back - with their names personalizing it.  So very sweet!

After the album arrived at my studio, I met up with Steve for coffee just before Christmas. He said it would be the first gift under their tree. And the best part, on Christmas morning Brandy emailed me and said it was her favorite gift!

As you will notice it has been over two years since their wedding, however its never too late to order an album. Not all of my wedding collections include an album & for those that don't you may add one. Or as in Steve's case, you may order one a year or two after your wedding separately. Gorgeous hand-crafted leather or linen albums are available with a modern design. Coming in several sizes, colors, along with several other options, there's something to please everyone!

As for those of you out there reading this, whether you are my client or not - I strongly urge each and every one of you to print your images and/or order an album whether from a family session, your newborn baby, a wedding, or your vacation.  Please don't leave them on your hard drive, thumb drive, the cloud, a disc - or even your smart phones. Your children and grandchildren may never get to enjoy the family photographs in the future to come!  Last week, I read a great article on this very subject courtesy of today.com.  A must read for all!

On a personal note, my partner Terry lost his mother recently and we've been going through albums and boxes & boxes of his family's photographs.  Not only did we discover photos of his parents early on in their relationship before their wedding, it has been so much fun seeing baby & childhood photos of Terry.  It has warmed my heart in so many ways!

Jenny + Justin - Wedding Album {KISS Books}

Its just like Christmas all over again here at Elizabeth Larson Photography this morning!  Jenny & Justin's wedding album was just delivered & I could hardly wait to open the box... it looks fantastic! So without further ado, pictured are a few details of their gorgeous 10x10" leather album in sunflower with the "laveranda regular" font on the cover.  Custom designed and then printed & handmade by KISS Books, they always do an incredible job and of the highest quality.  Our full wedding collections include a leather KISS Book ranging in sizes from 8x8" to 12x12" - we also offer a 4x4" mini album, which are always popular for parents as an add-on!  In addition, we offer animal-friendly linen books. And as of the new year, KISS is now offering albums with a cameo opening as an option {additional fee}.   We also offer wedding day coverage/options without albums, however we highly recommend the KISS Books, should you be on the fence about whether you'd like an album versus no album. We have studio samples, should anyone like to see them in person!

a fall wedding in durham - jessica + derek - october 19, 2013

as the summer kicks off, i'm reminded of the cooler temps of fall and of the many fabulous weddings we photographed then.  fall has become quite popular here in the south for weddings, as we almost always have pleasant weather that time of year.

   jessica & derek's wedding was no exception!  jenny & i arrived early at their church to capture jessica & her bridesmaids getting ready, as well as most of the wedding party ahead of time. the church had a nice outdoor courtyard with pretty landscaping - it was the perfect location for photos!  jessica & derek had such a lovely ceremony with so many personal touches. one of the sweetest aspects of their ceremony was when jessica's mother walked down the aisle beside her & gave her away.  

the reception was held not too far from the church, at a great little place called the dunnagan house. it had an outdoor covered pavilion set up with tables and festive twinkling lights. there was a space indoors where they had a dance floor & the bar set-up too. everyone had so much fun & the food was delicious! one of jessica's bridesmaids carved all of the pumpkins & another made the burlap flowers on the cake and tables. the cake was also made lovingly by a friend. 

not only did i enjoy working with such a wonderful couple, jessica's mother nita was also such a sweetheart to work with!  she decided to surprise them with an album, which i really enjoyed designing for them. it was so exciting to finally receive the final product & to be able to deliver it to nita just in time for christmas was an added bonus. i found out later that jessica & derek absolutely LOVED it too - and they were totally taken by surprise! i'm so lucky to have such wonderful clients!
