wedding - brandy + steve: the inn at celebrity dairy

it seems like just yesterday when brandy and steve celebrated their sweet wedding, though its still very fresh in my mind. held in late summer on a quaint goat dairy farm located near silk hope, north carolina, it was the perfect setting for their festivities. not only that, it just so happens to have been one of the most glorious days we had in 2013 - it was sunny, warm, low humidity, with gorgeous light which is always a plus in my book.

terry and i felt honored to not only be their photographers, but also to be there as friends to brandy & steve. terry introduced me to brandy and steve several years ago while we were all attending shakori hills grassroots festival of music & dance. it seemed only fitting to post their wedding to the blog this week, as the spring festival starts tomorrow & continues thru this sunday {april 17-20}. another thing i learned about brandy & steve is that shakori hills is where they originally met - i love it!

the couple included their three children in the wedding ceremony, which was so special for all of them. each of the children served as an attendant - brandy's son & daughter walked her in and "gave her away" which was such a lovely touch. the ceremony took place outside in front of one of the old log tobacco barns, which was adorned with hanging daisies strung together.

on the other side of the farmhouse, the reception area was set up with big farm tables, festive flag pennant banners, and twinkling white lights. i loved their choices in decor - wildflowers in multi colored vases & antique jars, family quilts used as tablecloths & spread out on the ground for those who wanted to picnic.

the food, including the goat cheese that the dairy provided was amazing. the couple chose to cut a wedding pie, which a friend lovingly made for them, along with several other pies for the guests to enjoy {i had the blueberry}. one of my favorites was the sign-in table. they had a stack of smooth river stones which you could write your message & sentiments to the couple on.

the band, the major sevens, played mostly original songs which have somewhat of a bluegrass-americana influence. they were great! brandy & steve had originally heard them play at shakori hills - at first i didn't recognize their name, but when i met them at their wedding i too remembered seeing them at the spring 2013 shakori!

we really had a fun time at brandy and steve's wedding & we are hopeful we will see them and the kids at the fest this weekend!
