marlene + edward - greensboro wedding

this is the last of our fall 2012 weddings! marlene and edward {ed} had a beautiful wedding on a brisk november afternoon. the couple's church ceremony was followed by a fabulous evening reception at the university of north carolina greensboro - alumni house.  its the first time i've photographed a wedding or an event there and what a nice place it was. yet another one of greeensboro's best kept secrets!

both ed and marlene are scientists - ed, a tobacco scientist and marlene, a soil scientist.  they placed an auger and tobacco leaves on the buffet table, making it uniquely their day! their sign-in for the guests was a periodic table of endangered animal species. how clever! and rather than flowers on the tables they placed potted plants, which they'd be adding to their flowerbeds after the wedding. very environmentally friendly!

the band was fabulous and very professional!  both young and young at heart clearly had a wonderful time.  they played some old favorites and some originals.  and with renee of sweet basil's catering there, the food was of course fabulous.  i think she makes the best deviled eggs i've ever tasted!

lastly, i'm giving a special thanks to my friend, debbie mundy, for coming along to help me out at this wedding.  she is a newly certified wedding planner and her business is elegant events greensboro.  be sure to check out her website & tell her i sent you! if you are a bride looking for a planner, debbie is amazing!

marlene and ed were such a joy to work with and to photograph. so very happy and truly in love!  its so incredibly sweet how ed looks at marlene adoringly. hope you enjoy the photos which tell the story of their remarkable day.

stay tuned for spring-summer 2013 weddings coming soon!
