Wyndham Championship - PGA

We just got thru a very busy week covering the Wyndham Championship golf tournament in Greensboro, NC at Sedgefield Country Club. From photographing the players including John Daly, Vijay Singh, and Davis Love III to the sponsors gala at Grandover Resort, it was a very exciting and fun week. In addition, Anthony Smith, whom I was working with, was one of the lucky few who was invited to go up in the MetLife Blimp to capture aerial shots of the golf tournament.

I may not be much of a golfer, however I've always enjoyed the sport and often join friends on the golf course to help keep score.  I've even taken a few lessons - but to no avail! Years ago as a teenager I spent summers working at a pro shop up in Irvington, Virginia along with my mother (who was my 'boss'!) at the Golden Eagle Golf Course at the Tides Inn Resort. It brings back many fond memories especially of my mother. So the sport itself has a lot of meaning to me and its something I can appreciate.

Yesterday's winner, Carl Peterson, is a former Greensboro resident and a Grimsley High School graduate. He's also an alumni from NC State and currently lives in Raleigh with his family. He was certainly a crowd favorite with a huge gallery of fans. My shot on the Wyndham Championship's website of pettersson as he is presented the check. It was truly a wonderful experience and I look forward to the 2009 tournament!
